Your challenge
The production structure of boars has changed substantially in Europe in the last 5 years. Boar production has become more concentrated. Topigs Norsvin is growing and transports boars in Europe with logistic partners under high biosecurity and high animal welfare conditions. Changing European legislation on welfare of animals and transportation makes it more difficult to transport animals.
Topigs Norsvin daughter companies / Distribution Entities in Europe are experiencing increased transport and delivery costs. We experience difficulties with targeted margin selling boars and high costs. We need to analyze the situation and propose improvements for a redesign of our logistic network in Europe. The assignment is:
- Contribute to creating an improved dataset with the help of financial controller, global logistics and production manager Europe
- Help analyse the production and transport costs of boars of Europe over 2022 and 2023
o Advice Topigs Norsvin how it should redesign (parts of) its logistical network. Directions of solutions could be found in the field of Production locations of boars, New distribution centres like collective quarantine facilities, Change order process, Change of logistical partners, etc.
Are you up for the task?
We are looking for Dutch based students meeting the following requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Supply Chain of Logistics related education at Bachelor level or higher
- Eagerness to learn, curious mindset and ability to adapt to a challenging environment
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members
- Proficient English level (C1 spoken and written).
